Has Windows Weekly Jumped the Shark?

A podcast that I have been listening to for quite a while, Windows Weekly, part of the twit network of padcasts, pardon me netcasts, has been going down hill. This is a podcast where Leo Leporte "interviews" Paul Thurrott a tech journalist who maintains the Super Site for Windows web site. He has a bit of an in with Microsoft people and usually has great information that other people just don't have.

The podcast started out well. Paul would talk about current tech news about the Microsoft which also includes iPods, video game consoles and game reviews. Good stuff actually. Leo would interview him and sometime interject stuff, but not to often. Paul would give a bit of an opinion about the news item, and they would move on.

But, the last 6 or so shows (maybe more) I have listened to have been getting really chatty. Leo is much more involved and it is more like listening on a phone chat between Leo and Paul rather than just giving the information. The show also has been extended to 1:20 which is a long show. The length would be ok if there was alot of content but it has become alot more editorializing than reporting latley. Do they listen to these shows and see how much fooling around there is, with Leo surfing the web out loud, etc?

Hey, it's Leo and Paul's show, and if this is what they want it to be fine. But, I really don't have time to listen to such a long podcast where more than 1/2 of it is just banter. I also listen to Security Now which luckily has Steve Gibson who keeps the show on track and on target... even though it really should be Leo who does this, even though Leo is usually the one digressing.

Guys... if this is what you are going for... fine... but you've pretty much lost me. A couple more shows like this and I'm just done.
