No Long Days

This day we have made history in the United States of America. In a country that started off treating African Americans as property and slaves today we have elected an African American to the highest office in the land.

I am proud to say that we have come so far. But, this isn't the end, this is just the beginning. We have a falling dollar, millions of homeless, millions living in poverty, millions without basic health care or health insurance and a great addiction to oil.

But, I have faith in this country to do what is necessary to regain the standing we had in the international community. To be a beacon of democracy and capatilism. To do that we have to work hard an make changes.

I think Neil Armstrong said it best, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Yes, voting an African American into the office of the President of the United States is a giant leap. One I am pleased we took.

I hope this post wasn't to political. But I am just filled with joy at this result.
